About Us

Website 4 _edited.png

Babies and children can join at any time from four months old. We offer full and part time, term-time-only as well as all-year-round. We are situated on two sites next door to each other.  We open at 8.00am and close at 6:00pm.  On special request, there is a breakfast club 7.30-8.00 at PGT1. Ask for details. Parents provide a morning fruit snack and lunches which we heat up in our kitchen; we provide water and milk.

We encourage curiosity, exploration and excitement!

Our nurseries are divided over two settings: PGT1 - 112 Palace Gardens Terrace (4 months - circa 24 months) and PGT2 - 104 Palace Gardens Terrace (circa 2 years old - up to 5 years).

They are divided into rooms based on developmental stage and age. Children move between rooms when they are ready and at the discretion of the nursery team:

Baby Room 4 months to 27 months

Toddler Room 22 months to 36 months

Cherubs/Phoenix Risen 3-4 years

Houses and Uniform

Children from Cherubs upwards are placed into four houses: Badgers, Bears, Tigers and Wolves for the annual sports day consisting both round-robin activities as well as competitive activities.

There is no uniform for nursery children.

Specialist Teachers

As well as our dedicated nursery staff, we are delighted to provide specialist tuition in music and French.

Learning journey

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Follow the link to read more about it.

The seven areas of learning and development are:

1. Communication and language

2. Physical development

3. Personal, social and emotional development

4. Literacy

5. Mathematics

6. Understanding the world

7. Expressive arts and design

In our well resourced nursery, children learn through inventive play, both adult and child led. The progress of each child is monitored using their learning journey and ongoing assessments which are shared regularly with parents.
